Privacy for Sale is the final year thesis project of three multimedia students in DCU; Robin Cafolla, who acts as this site's webmaster, Eimear Fitzmaurice and Olivia Farrell. You can contact them here.
Purpose
Privacy for Sale records no user data after that user has left the site (this excludes information sent to us via email). Our web host reserves the right to log your IP address for its own records. Privacy for Sale reserves the right to create and store a cookie on your computer. This cookie is not unique and cannot be used to identify you. We use it to separate first time visitors to our site from return visitors. You may block cookies on your pc without in any way harming your experience of our web page. Users who remove their cookie will be counted as a unique visitor every time they visit the site. Email addresses sent to us via our contact us page may be stored indefinitely, attached to any emails you send with them.
Disclosure
Privacy for Sale will not disclose any information gathered from you to any third party. Be aware that our web host separately logs your IP address every time you connect to the site.
Right of Access
Under section 4 of the Data Protection Acts 1988 & 2003 a person has a right to be given a copy of his/her personal data. Privacy for Sale stores no personal data. On an email request, through our contacts form, we will request the logs from our web host and provide you with any information relating to your IP address.
Right of rectification or erasure.
Should you have any issue with the records maintained by our web host we will request it be changed or removed on your behalf. A request may take up to 40 days to process.
