CCTV stands for Closed-circuit television. CCTV systems are used to monitor areas either live or via recordings. Almost all CCTV footage is recorded in some manner. Laws in Ireland regarding CCTV footage are quite strict, preventing cameras surveying anything that can't be justified. It is illegal to share or upload CCTV footage to the internet where anyone on camera is identifiable.
