When shopping online you risk the theft of your credit card details and your virtual identity.
Here are ways to avoid becoming a victim of fraud whilst shopping online.
- Deal with well recognized websites and sellers.
- Make sure that the website still works under a https:// address. All websites show a http:// address in the web browser but if you add an s to the end it means the website is secure. The "s" stands for secure.
- Keep an eye out for the padlock symbol in the bottom right hand corner of your web browser window. The padlock indicates that the website is secure.
